艮山坤向、坤山艮向有一個特點，艮宮、坤宮均屬土，碰上流年飛星5、4、3、2，各宮連續四年見刑剋衝擊，假若艮坤、坤艮中軸各見廚廁，廚火沖起穢物，情況更不理想。九年一個小循環，如當中七年有問題(還未計八入中二五交加及二入中八入坤成剝卦)，該宅又如何稱得上是吉宅呢？內巒不配，縱是八運倒騎龍坐空朝滿(艮方仍須有靠)，也是枉然。這便是筆者經常強調，玄空風水講求山、水、座向、間格、人、時之適配，是通盤考量，並不囿於一訣一物之意。
